A dozen will certainly do ‘ya!
Crab Depot’s Crew finally started the countdown to Crab Season 2026. Gulf of America blue crabs kept the winter parties jumping with peppery pops of JO Spice #2 but soon crab boats will motor up through the sounds and currents of the Chesapeake Bay. Wily blue crabs slowly waken from their slumber as the water temperatures and mercury take that exciting climb. Time for a Spring Feast like no other! Chesapeake Bay Dozens, in honor of the event fill our bushel baskets. Sweeter bay crabs, measuring 5”-6” fill this dozen for a rise and shine and say hello to spring fever.
Back in the bay’s early days, settlers who chose to live off the seafood harvest picked jumbo crabs and made crab cakes to feed the family during the devastatingly cold winter. They called it “roughing it” to get by. We consider it a delicacy and treat, especially our 4 oz. Pub Style Cakes. They line up majestically on our serving tables, ready for a quick commute to your seafood party. Packed with the finest USA lump meat and made with traditional ingredients: Old Bay, eggs, mayonnaise, yellow mustard, and black pepper, these cakes bake to a golden-brown masterpiece.
Did you know Crab Depot specializes in shrimp too? From our shrimp trolleys in Louisiana over to Texas, traversing the bayou and marshes along the gulf, we net both brown and white shrimp from small up to extra jumbo in sizes. Chefs impress with the buttery, sweet flavor and mix and mingle recipes with the tastes. Catches from 31-35 ct. per pound, a large shrimp certainly makes for a delicious scampi or seafood omelet. Our crew even prepare peeled and deveined for the future baseball watching evenings with a delicious shrimp cocktail. No matter how you unpack your seafood cooler, Crab Season 2026 looks to be a super scrumptious one!
